Sentosa Island, Singapore
Happy Easter all!
Woke this morning to find Malieka and I absolutely covered in chocolate! So funny! She had woken at silly o'clock to check if the Easter bunny had been, and to her delight he had! Unfortunately the bunnies in hot countries only leave a few small ones as they melt too quickly in their paws, so in her half awake/still asleep mode brought them into my bed to show me and probably hide under the covers from her brother. Needless to say, there were no intact eggs left this morning and a very cheesed off brother! Went over to the mainland this morning to go to church, was a huge congregation, in St Andrews Cathedral, I really enjoyed the service but was very different to what the children are used to, was very traditional so children were very restless unfortunately. The gifts of freshly baked muffins on way out softened the blow for them anyway!
Zoo last week was great, kids loved it! Chaska's tooth was playing up again so was uncomfortable for him though. Tried booking in with dentist but all closed as public holiday, nightmare! It'll have to be China now unfortunately. Went to the night Safari also that day which was amazing, getting so close to all the wild animals, lions n tigers n bears..oh my! Tippe enjoyed it to, she "woof woofed" and roared all day bless her.
On our last night we took a walk to Clarkes Quay where there is lots of shops and places to eat, very touristy but great hussle n bussle.
The pics of kids with dolphins etc were from a day trip over to Sentosa island, it was formerly a fishing village but now has wonderful beaches, cable car rides, luge, huge statue of MERLION, a symbol of Singapore, half fish and half lion. Also has a butterfly park, underwater world and much more. Obviously the children thought it was amazing and even after staying there until 2000hr, didn't want to go. This gave me the idea for his birthday, we came for two nights to mark his birthday, was so worried it wouldn't feel like his big day as we are away but here, there are so many children their ages its been great! I had a cake made and smuggled into dinner tonight for him, he went rather shy when the resident band came over to sing happy birthday!! Thought it best we did it tonight as even though it's tomorrow, we will be on our way to the aiport at dinner time. We are booked into the Wangfujing Da Wan Hotel Beijing. NO.A2 Ganyu Bystreet Dongdan North St. Dong Cheng District. Beijing, China from 10th Apr - 17th Apr so far but will play it by ear. It's in the city center, close to the Wangfujing Commercial Area, some of the tourist sites are also nearby, such as the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Beihai Park etc. Really looking forward to China.
Off to sleep now as i'm sure Chaska will be up early as a lark! Love to you all and God bless xxx
